Pete Davidson says his family brought ‘the literal greatest rapper of all time’ to his birthday

Pete Davidson was visited by celebrity family friend Flavor Flav when he turned 25 on February 11. The resident rapper joined the comedian at Johnny Doughnuts in New York, where he documented the experience on his Instagram Story.

Flavor Flav, real name William Drayton, is an eccentric ex-Reggae artist who once appeared on several VH1 series — namely, Flavor of Love. He also presented Flavor Flav’s Flavor of Love in 2006 — the title refers to a candy item Flav had a hand in creating for the show. Davidson also took a photo of the two together, joking, “My hood showed up with the literal greatest rapper of all time.”

Last month, Davidson confirmed he was dating Kim Kardashian West’s best friend, model Ariana Grande. They were seen cosying up in Central Park, holding hands, as Grande rode in a cab with her mother, Joan, at the time. Grande has been publicly supportive of Davidson, who recently admitted that he had struggled with mental health issues.

In the midst of the subject of mental health, both Grande and Davidson retweeted and shared a video from Tuesday’s episode of “GMA” of Hoda Kotb getting emotional discussing the issue. Davidson’s parents, Jerry and Kathy, were also spotted together at one of Grande’s concerts in New York, further suggesting they have a close relationship.
